On doubloon oceans, the bank has a desk labeled "Doubloon Exchange." The are four options:
- Buy Doubloons (Easy) - This pops up a window allowing the player to buy doubloons from another player at the lowest available price. There is also a button that allows the user to buy doubloons from Three Rings with a credit card.
- Sell Doubloons (Easy) - This pops up a window allowing the player to sell doubloons to another player at the highest available price.
- Doubloon Exchange - Provides a sophisticated way to buy or sell doubloons. You can inspect other players' current buy and sell offers.
- Buy Doubloons with your credit card. - Just as advertised.
When selling doubloons, there is a 2% surcharge deducted before the seller is paid. The surchage is a PoE sink.
When buying doubloons with a credit card, you are taken to a web page.

[edit] Historical Notes
Pirates used to have separate bank accounts on each island. Money could be transferred between islands for a fee. Money held at uncolonized islands was "buried" and could not be transferred. The addition of the Global Purse eliminated the use of bank accounts.
