Brigand

From Puzzle Pirates

(Redirected from Brigands)

NPP controlled ships in the game Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates. The colour of the ring around their ship determines their relative strength compared to your ship and crew.

This strength is a combination of number of Swabbies aboard the ship and its rank. The colors are as follows:

  • Blue – These are weaker than you. Either there are many fewer NPPs or this ship was spawned for a crew with a lower sea battle ranking. Think twice about attacking too many of these, or you may bring the wrath of the black ship upon yourself! This ship is full of skeletons that will beat you, and they will take all your goods and PoE.
  • Green – This color is the one to go for more often than not. These ships are about the same strength as you or just a bit stronger. A good match and better possibility of a win!
  • Yellow – These are going to be the next step ahead of the crew you currently carry. If you take on a yellow ship, you probably want to land a few cannon balls before you board. This will give you better chance at winning.
  • Orange and Red – First of all you probably look very blue to these colored ships! They are progressively more dangerous and it would be best to avoid attacking them! Unless you are on a very hard route they will probably leave you alone.

Brigands also have an identifier for level of difficulty during the sea battle and swordfight. In ascending order:

  • Sailors
  • Mostly Harmless
  • Scurvy Dogs
  • Scoundrels
  • Blaggards
  • Dread Pirates
  • Sea Lords
  • Imperial (sometimes referred to as "Imps")

The higher up the more moves the NPP will be able to use during the sea battle, the more intelligently they will move about the sea battle board, the better swords the NPP will have for the swordfight and the better the NPPs will be at swordfighting. However, these titles can be misleading. For example, on the Ice Ocean it is very common to run into Imperials who are unskilled at both sea battle and swordfighting.
