Ferry

A sytem of ferries connections all colonized islands in the same archipelago. The ferries are available through the island's dock. Travelling via a ferry is instantaneous. At the present time, there is no fee to use a ferry.

Originally, the ferries were all free. The Ringers later introduced code to charge for ferries. For a very brief time, there was a charge to use them, but the Ringers quickly disabled it. When there were ferry charges, if you took one to your home island, it was free. Presumably this is because you could easily just whisk home instead.

On Midnight, the ferry destinations are not always listed alphabetically. This appears to be an artifact of the colonization process. All the other oceans list the destinations in alphabetical order.
