Technically formed in the waning days of Azure from the still-floating wreckage of Old Spice, the Mad Mutineers joined forces with Red Dawn, soon followed by the Yellow Jackets and Plunder Cats. Determined not to repeat the mistakes of some Azure flags (including Old Spice), Midnight Armada was formed with very clear ideas about internal fairness in power distribution and communication amongst its leaders.

With this lead time for organization, the flag was well-poised to pillage start-up funds for the fresh start that came with Midnight; before long, the flag owned several shoppes, which in turn set it up well to become the first flag to own two islands in Midnight (Winter Solstice and Park Island).
