Mission
From Puzzle Pirates
Missions are short tasks that can be taken by pirates from the Notice Board. The missions available depend on a pirate's experience and whether the pirate is carrying PoE.
Missions are completely optional and, in most cases, it is quite possible to do the activity of the mission without using the mission board. (E.g., one does not need a "Win while playing hearts" mission to play Hearts.)
However, navy missions can be quite useful:
- "Defeat brigands" missions are the only place where one can practice Sea Battle while having the game pay for all of the rum and cannon balls. (Alas, only one human player is allowed per brigand mission and the navy keeps most of the booty.)
- In some cases, navy missions can be used as a crude and slow taxi service, allowing the player to get to islands that they've never been to before. The navy can sometimes also be used to travel an uninhabited island or an island in another archipelago without the use of a whisking potion.
