Ocean

From Puzzle Pirates

An ocean is your pirate world. In mundane, non-piratey MMORPG language, an ocean would be called a "server." There are several oceans, each distinct and separate.

No pirate/ship/sword/etc. can be transferred from ocean to ocean. (While it is technically possible to trade PoE and items from one ocean to another by making deals with other players, doing so violates the Terms of Service.)

Separate Ultimate lists are maintained for each oceans.

Contents

[edit] Subscriber Oceans

  • Midnight Ocean is rather an 'old' ocean, and it is quite established already. It is the oldest ocean still open. It is a subscriber ocean but non-subscribers can play under a limited trial system.
  • Cobalt Ocean is a newish ocean, only a while into getting set up. Geographically identical to Viridian and opened to the public on the same day, it is a subscriber ocean like Midnight.

[edit] Testing Ocean (paid users only)

  • Ice Ocean is the ocean for testing new features. It is the second oldest ocean still open. The ocean may be reset in the future but the developers have stated that they hope a future reset will not be necessary. Ice requires a separate client to play (links to this client are available on the Ice Ocean page). While it is not the kind of ocean most players would enjoy, there is a small, but dedicated group of players who call the Ice Ocean home. This ocean is only open to subscribers--no trial accounts are allowed on Ice.

[edit] Doubloon Oceans

  • Viridian Ocean is geographically identical to Cobalt, and was made at the same time. At this time, it is the only doubloon ocean, a pay-for-play type design rather than the flat-fee subscriber option.

[edit] Other Oceans

  • There is currently a Japanese Ocean been created but it is being administrated by GungHo Online, the leading Japanese online gaming company.

[edit] Oceans that No Longer Exist

  • The Indigo Ocean was the ocean for German players, which was maintained by a separate company. Information about this ocean (written in German, of course) was available at http://www.puzzlepiraten.de/. You will need a separate subscription for this ocean, payable in Euros.
  • There was a Chinese Ocean once, but that Ocean no longer exists.
