Crew History
Edit
In The Beginning
Edit
Long ago in June 2003 a sharp young lad named Ironfisted (Iron) joined the pirates sailing the Azure Ocean. There his crew there was called the Pillage People. When it was time to depart to Midnight, he joined a crew called the Cartographers because his Azure crew didn't reform. He pillaged the high seas under his captain, Sebstlade, became and officer, and learned the ways of the ocean. One day he met another pirate named Plasmalink, who decided to form his own crew, and persuaded Iron to come with him and be his Senior Officer. That crew was named Shadowlink who sailed under the flag Compass Rose.
For a while all was good. Iron recruited and sailed the seas, pillaging and gathering together the finest greenies he could find. But alas, all things must end. He grew tired of being Plasma's stand in. He was basically running the crew, he just did not carry the title of captain. Iron was the one that made that crew what it was. He knew that those he had gathered were loyal to him, not their actual captain, and one day decided to strike out on his own and grab as many mates as possible from that old Plasmalink.
December 2003
Edit
So, Iron took CalicoHydro (Hydro), to be his first mate and senior officer, and they formed Ransack Marauders (RM) on December 17, 2003. They also grabbed a VERY new officer named SaltySpencer, along with as much crew as they could muster. Needless to say, this wasn't a peaceful split. Soon Plasmalink was crewless, and barely was around anymore. For a while they continued to recruit greens, and started to grow, and formed their own flag, The Marauders. They pillaged and plundered, foraged and traded, making PoE (Pieces of Eight) all the time, and having fun along the way.
Salty also brought his friend Shark into the mix. He was a greenie and basically went wherever Salty decided to go. He was also in Shadowlink, before the split, and followed Salty to RM. After a while, Shark was promoted to officer, Salty graduated to SO and was also appointed a lordship when the new flag was made.
There were many a day after a successful pillage that the group were seen on the docks at Epsilon, tarting and recruiting greenies, well attempting to. There were several times when Iron would stand in their usual chat circle, so that he was hiding behind the bank, and act like he was it’s voice. Hydro was also known, on occasion, to relieve himself on the bank as well. The group would stand around talking well into the night, never realizing that they were forming friendships that would be the basis for the crew you see today.
For a brief period of time, RM was hired for mercenary work, pledging their loyalties to their friends in the ocean, and PvPing those who had done any of them wrong. They stalked their pray, and pounced when the time was right, leaving no trace of evidence back to their employers.
Sailing Hydro’s new merchant brigs was also a common occurrence. They used to sail a couple of times a week. This is where they would find a lot of greens, and where Hydro earned his title of “Dock Pimp.” He always knew what to say to the greenies to both get them on the ship and keep them there. At the end of their pillages south to Namath island, a lot of them would join the crew just to get their buried PoE back home, and then staying because they had found a great bunch of mates to sail with.
Forage parties were a usual site, on the merchant brig the Ambitious Haddock, while she sat on Namath island in Jet. They would gather supplies to sail back up to Emerald, namely to Epsilon island. They always tried to sell everything to friends, even offering them discounts in order to keep them supplied with goods.
One night during a foraging party, the conversation somehow turned to SaltySpencer, and who he was, where he was from and his age. Iron and Hydro were very surprised to say the least that their newest senior officer, was in fact NOT a guy at all, but a girl! There was a lot of laughing, and some confusion, but in the end it all came out that Salty was a she! The guys eventually talked her into playing more as a female character. Infact, even after switching to a female alt, Hydro still called her Salty or Spence from time to time on merchant brig runs.
RM remained loyal to their friends in a new flag called Silver Dawn (SD), which was formed on December 23, 2003, where the Cartographers had also ended up. Silver Dawn was formed from several different crews, namely from the flags Sanctioned Insanity and the remnants of Compass Rose.
January 2004
Edit
Iron had lots of friends in the flag and he started telling his crew that they should consider joining with them, partly for the comradery and partly incase they wanted to have a stake in an island one day. So he started talking to them, and telling his mates how they worked and what was expected of them. They seemed like nice enough pirates and so RM was finally accepted into the flag around mid-January 2004.
Somewhere in the middle of the month, they also picked up a mate named TristanJones (TJ). He was a good greenie, and turned out to be their first real officer outside of those who had come together to form RM. By this point, Shark had been promoted to SO, and they were looking to expand on their officer list. Trist was their first bright young officer, with a sloop that he so wanted to call the Sea Dart, and was terribly disappointed when he found out that he couldn’t choose the name or the color of his ship.
As they were welcomed into their new home, Iron was made the royal representative for the crew, mostly because he knew everyone already. He began asking them if they thought that Emmy would be a good replacement for Diven who was stepping down as monarch. Iron and Hydro both agreed that she was a good replacement. Iron had led them this far with their trust in his judgment, so they deferred to his choice. Soon Emmy was Queen of Silver Dawn and all was well, or so they thought.
When RM first joined the flag, it was tough going. They were coming into a group that had a lot of mates who already knew each other. Iron was doing his best to lead them into it with a positive attitude, but things were degrading fast. Hydro had a merchant brig attacked on his way home form foraging, with a greenie aboard who was very questionable, and a PvP opponent that HAD to have a spy aboard his ship. The flag didn’t want to believe them, and they feared that RM was seen as overly paranoid. Said ship also attacked another flagship twice, all in the same night.
Morale was low, and they had thought of perhaps leaving the flag all together, RM’s leadership was totally frustrated. They didn’t care about an island, or alliances, they just wanted to be happy, like they were before. But as they say, you can never go back, you can only move forward. So, they took it into their own hands to document strange behavior for themselves, and look out for number one. They did job with the flag on occasion, but they were building their crew and that was the most important thing at the time. They didn't really like the restrictions that being in a flag put on the crew. The alliances, lists of people you couldn’t or shouldn’t attack, representing the flag well, these things were all hard for them at first. It took them awhile to get accustomed to the ways of the flag, and all the chatter on the Flag Officer channel. They had some growing pains, but in the end the good outweighed the bad and they had finally made their home in Silver Dawn.
The turning point for them in the flag was when Hydro finally met his match. Their own "Dock Pimp," had plucked a greenie named EllieLee (Ellie) from the docks on Epsilon. Here is the scene that has now become that of legend: Salty, Shark, Iron and Hydro were standing on the docks for a usual tarting session. When, Iron dared Hydro to ask a random green to join the crew and prove his “true” pimp nature. He said alright and asked which one he should go for. Immediately he saw a blonde haired girl standing around kind of clueless and randomly invited her to join the crew. She was unlike other greenies, in fact she joined their chat circle and asked why he’d offered her a position in the crew. If anyone knows how greenies are, they know that this is strange behavior. Hydro answered that they were good people or one of his random greenie pick-up lines, and she accepted. That is officially where the fun returned!
February 2004
Edit
Hydro and Ellie had become fast friends. Ellie was a great swordfighter, and would beat Hydro on a fairly regular basis. One day, Hydro, Ellie and Chihiro (Chi) were all standing on the merchant brig, probably after one of the Namath runs, when the two were flirting so much that Chi said, “Why don’t you two just get married?!” Chi laughed, of course, the thought of getting YPP married was so silly to most of the crew. But, at the suggestion of it, Hydro and Ellie decided that it would be fun and a great idea for a party!
The wedding was held on Nuptial Island on February 2, 2004. Their fearless captain, Iron, officiated the ceremony. This was their first flag and crew event, and they had a pretty good turn out too. This was sort of like Chihiro's "coming out" party as well, since the flag had known her as SaltySpencer before. The wedding was a hit and Iron had to boast about Chi planning it all. They met a lot of their new flagmates and had a great time. Iron gave his cutter the Dangerous Hagfish to Hydro as a wedding gift. Hydro also put up his sloop the Rude Mummichog, for a prize in a sword tourney held after the ceremony. This ship had been Iron's very first on the Midnight Ocean, and they were all sad to see it go.
They had picked up a greenie named Orvile on their pillages through the ocean, and he was soon made an officer. He was a quiet lad, and spent so much time meming and pillaging in far away archipelagos, that they had eventually made him the navigator of the crew!
Chihiro had just written and developed what is now their officer-training program. They were growing by leaps and bounds. Pjotr (PJ) had been pimped by Hydro off of the Epsilon docks, and later abandoned on Namath. Now he was the first of their officers to be trained using the tutorial. He was the easiest OiT to date because of it, and the program would become a right of passage into officer ship in this crew.
Soon after that, Iron stepped down from their royalty seat, as he'd had some perhaps overly heated discussions with people on the council and some things were done that the flag also looked down upon. (Namely the "Thanos ate my baby!" incident, amongst other issues at the time.) They seemed to have really messed up on a couple of occasions, and Iron thought it best to step down around mid February as royal and pass the torch to Chihiro. Their captain really didn’t want to press any of his new crewmates into their royalty seat, as they weren’t familiar with the flag and all her crews. The fact that there were so many mates that had sailed Azure for so long was a bit intimidating.
Almost immediately after Chi became royal, Emmy announced that due to some RL issues, she was going to have to step down as monarch. This was quite a shock to all of them, and it was soon decided that AtteSmythe (Atte) would take her place. He had been the other choice for monarch when Emmy had been elected, and he was the next in line to take it at the time. He was also the best equipped to handle the job and pretty well known in the ocean.
March 2004
Edit
So what DO you get for the captain who has everything? Well a huge sword tourney, a poem from the first mate, and kick-arse avatar of course! They had tried to surprise Iron at crew pillage (even though his birthday wasn’t until Saturday that week), although it was almost a bust. Then he ran off to Turtle to get into a marathon-drinking tourney! Anyway, they had a good time, he was surprised and happy that they had remembered. They even announced the sword tourney on the flag officer channel and everyone wished him a happy birthday, and joined the tourney! Iron was also so touched by his avatar gift from Chi that he in fact gave her is heart. A pink turban.
Orvile had been on quite a lot, and was running pillages almost everyday. He had proven himself to be a knowledgeable officer, and a great pirate. They made the decision to promote him to SO in March, and Iron called him to their usual chat circle on the Epsilon beach where Hydro, Shark and Chi were all gathered. They made him stand shoeless in the water and told him that they were going to promote him to senior officer.
Ellie had been telling them that she would be leaving soon to go to Alaska to pillage the high seas, and study for school there. She had proven her loyalty, her leadership, and her sword fighting ability to all be a great asset to the crew in general. So, they were checking out their newest large ship, the war brig known as the Idealistic Chub, when Iron, Shark and Chi promoted her while a very green McStew (Stew) and Spankster (Spank) ran around the ship sword fighting each other and asking when they were going to set out. It was a bit like the kids running around playing while the grown-ups had a good talk, no offense guys.
Perhaps one of the two most puzzling departures to happen was that of Aegean. He was an officer, and a good one too. He had said that he was getting bored with the game, and one day they logged on and he had left the crew and started his own, the Soaring Gulls. Just before this happened, he had bought a merchant brig, denied it was his and then sailed it severely undermanned to forage a far away island that was always dry. He basically separated himself from them, and even though they tried to hang out with him and keep him happy, they just couldn’t make it happen. Since then his character has been deleted.
This was a proud day for RM history, and it may never happen again! Thanks to the great officer tutorial, Chihiro graduated four, count em, FOUR officers in one day! The date was March 14, 2004 and the graduates were Spankster, McStew, Croc and Bluesbeard. Promptly after finishing the last test, Chihiro passed out, not to wake until the next morning.
The crew was very sad to say goodbye to Ellie on March 19, 2004. She left for Alaska and hasn’t personally been heard from since. It was found out that she is doing well though, through a friend that was checking her email for her. She had been with RM since very early on in it’s existence. She was a loyal mate with a sweet spirit, yet she wielded a mean scimitar.
The second most puzzling departure was that of Jezrael. She had been in the officer training program, and not gotten very far at all, when she sent Chihiro a tell, asking to be let back into the crew. Chi thought that this was a bit strange, but took her back, and suddenly Jez had a sloop as well. She blamed her ‘little brother’ for logging on as her and messing with her account, but who’s to say she even HAS a little brother? This “leaving the crew” thing happened a couple of more times and Chi finally directed her to talk to the captain if she wanted back into the crew because it was just getting silly that she would need to be reinstated and re-promoted so much. She soon left around mid-March, and made her own crew, and is now captain of an Imperio crew. Interesting how that happens when you don’t have the time to devote to playing . . . .
Their next SO promotion was that of Pjotr. He had been an accomplished puzzler, with a couple of ultimates and was a leader of many pillages, as well as a great help whenever anyone need anything. PJ lead his pirates to victory with a gentle and polite air about him, and had learned not to let them step on him at the same time. He was promoted around March 23, 2004.
Orvile and one of their pirates at the time, Amilliss, decided to marry, and tied the proverbial knot on March 28, 2004. There was a good turn out from the flag, and they had a sword tourney afterward along with some good old-fashioned pillaging! Iron officiated yet again, and it was also held on Nuptial island in the scenic Pearl archipelago.
This was also the maiden voyage of the Marauding Mako. She had just been renamed, and had not been sailed. So, the crew thought it would be a great time to inaugurate the new war brig into service with a wedding pillage!
April 2004
Edit
Finally in early April, the long awaited blockade testing began on the Azure Ocean. It was great fun and everyone from the flag who could get into the server met back up to join Jorgeo’s new crew Big Huggles under the flag Huggles. Many RM mates joined in on the fun, and found getting sunk to be the most fun ever! Some of them got injuries, and some of them were sure that their accounts are in a special “no injuries allowed” section of the server.
It was true, there were lots of bugs and people just messing around, but the amount of shot and ships being sunk into the ocean was huge! The ocean masters were giving out free ships and shot as fast as they could be magiced up and they all had a blast. Big Huggles even took Alpha Island at one point.
Their next batch of new officers was graduated in early April. Amilliss was passed first on April 8, 2004. This was also the day that they picked up a greenie named Feegle. Ami was followed by Quietus who was passed on April 9, 2004. Both have proven themselves to be great officers! They were the last OiT passed while the crew was Emerald based.
Silver Dawn’s Royalty council decided to ally with the Looterati on April 12, 2004 and with Nyx’s Scions on April 14, 2004. This collection of alliances was dubbed RAWR by Jorgeo. RAWR stands for the Ruby Alliance and War Regulation, what does this mean? No telling, but it sounds great!
Pretty soon after opening blockade testing, new brigand artificial intelligence (AI) was also introduced in Azure. The brigands were smarter, some said they were too smart, and many issues needed to be sorted out. With the new brigand AI in place there was also the introduction of the new battle interface. Instead of just running into the other ship, you now had to grapple them in order to board. This brought up all kinds of problems with they way that sea battles were usually fought. It was a lot easier, in the attempt to grapple the opposing ship, to be shot or boarded too early before they were damaged enough.
In order for the crew to ready themselves for what they thought was impending colonization, the decision was made to move. They left their home and moved from Emerald to Diamond, namely Turtle island. This was a huge undertaking, and the decision to abandon their roots in Epsilon was a tough one.
This meant several things for RM. There was to be a huge exodus with all the ships and PoE would have to be moved, and the memories that they would have to leave behind. They used part of the crew funds from Epsilon to buy a merchant galleon on Guava Island. This was to house all the colonization supplies that they would need to remove from the merchant brigs that could no longer run with all the commodities in their holds.
The galleon was pillaged up to Eta island on three separate crew pillage nights. It was basically hopped from island to island in order to save them from a most violent death. Galleons are carp hungry and take a lot of mates to run, so they took her to Eta empty in order to lessen the risk of loosing their colonization supplies. After the galleon was in place, the merchant brigs were then sailed up to be unloaded on to the galleon. Hydro also enjoyed his first taste of large shot as well!
RM’s first ever Green Turban Awards (GTA) were held on April 27, 2004 aboard the newest war brig the Enthusiastic Mullet. A small group of crew met there and Iron handed out the awards. Chihiro received the first ever GTA for her contributions and dedication to the OiT program. CalicoHydro received the next GTA for helping to found and build RM and his constant positive attitude, for his dock-pimpness and also for being the first to reach 100k donated to the crew fund . Hydro also received a new avatar from Chihiro for all of his hard work on the website and the forums. Shark was the next in line to get a GTA for his contributions to the crew and flag. He was also voted into his lordship that day by the SD Royalty Council! Pjotr couldn’t attend, but was honored with a GTA for his constant sailing and gentle demeanor with which he kept all the greenies happy with pillages! Orvile was the last of the official GTA’s for his monetary and all around contributions to the crew. After the awards, they invited the whole flag to join in on their weekly crew pillage to take the Mullet on her maiden voyage.
Meanwhile, the new battle navigation and brigand AI had hit the scene. While the senior leadership was still trying to figure it out, all officers were asked to sail only short distances. The brigands were smarter, and the navigating more difficult, so going out on ones own was a bit of a tough situation. Everyone was taken out and approved, fairly fast, and then the OiT program started up again!
May 2004
Edit
On May 1, 2004, SD got their first taste of blockades! Jorvik island was opened, and SD helped their allies, the Looterati, take the island without much contention. Quiglin was their admiral and helped everyone gather the points needed to win the rounds. Listening to blockade coordination on Teamspeak is more entertaining than any CD, TV show, movie, or radio station ever. In the later rounds, Vilya finally decided to make a showing, to which they were immediately put down each time they entered the blockade.
Soon all the current officers had gotten the hang of the new battle nav interface, but the brigand AI was still a bit questionable. The computer ships obviously knew the naver’s moves, even if they were placed at the last second, and many a pillage turned out badly. There were enough mates complaining about it, so the Devs made the decision to turn the AI back to the way it was in January of the same year.
Their next OiT to join the ranks were Feegle and Hellequin on May 3, 2004. Both were greenies that they picked up on merchant brig pillages. They were graduated on the same day and have proven themselves worthy of their rank time and time again. Quin is the sailing master, while Feegs was the bilge rat for a while, both mates are accomplished at any duty station on a ship.
As the officer number grew, the next OiT to graduate was ScaryFairy. She joined the crew at about the same time that Quietus had. She has owned a weavery stall and a tailor stall both on Jorvik island. She entered into their officer ranks on May 13, 2004.
At the end of May, the 28th and 29th to be exact, there was a second blockade declared on Jorvik island. This time SD would help the Loots defend their island from Tyr’s Own (TO), and Greenwolf. Greenwolf was the governor of Jorvik on the Azure seas, and he was obsessed with taking the island for himself and TO again. Jorvik II was a tough fight, but all was for naught, and the Loots hung on to their island.
June 2004
Edit
Around this time RM picked up a greenie named CaleBlue. The legend is that Hydro picked her up as a jobber on a deserted island mainly because she didn’t know how to wisk home. She of course joined the crew shortly thereafter and has been with them ever since.
On June 15, 2004 the Ransack Marauders celebrated, a bit early, their six months together as a crew! It was decided that all details would be kept from the crew, and was only known by six pirates in the ocean by the time the planning was through. It was the best event that anyone has had in a long time, and there are still pirates on the main forums that mention it from time to time.
Iron’s post on several forums made everyone ready for their event! Here it is in his own words: Quote: The Ransack Marauders will be celebrating six months of being a crew on June 17 and have decided to host a night of mystery, puzzles, and prizes. The event will happen on June 15 EDT at 7:30 EDT (4:30 PDT) in the main hall of Cameloot, the Jorvik Palace. The event will start off with a drinking tournament and the show will start from there. Stick around, follow the storyline and win more than 75K in prizes. Romance, Adventure, Revenge. This will be an event to remember.
The details of the event will be a surprise to the majority of our crew. Only 5 people in the ocean are in on the secret. The events that unfold will be a surprise for all in attendance.
Here is Chihiro’s account of what happened up to that night:
For me this crazy ride started with this line: Ironfisted told you: “We should just elope.” The Bash had already been dreamed up, and we were trying to figure out what we could do to make it as fun as possible. I knew that if we were going to do the wedding thing, too many people would be upset if we had gone through with it secretly. BUT, we couldn’t just do a regular boring wedding! With all of this, add in that Shark and I are married in RL, and you have the recipe for a great event!
We had to decide who would be “in the know,” and who would just be along for the ride. So we pulled in our first mate, Calicohydro, and it was only the 4 of us that knew what was going on. Of course, we needed someone to perform the wedding, and whom better than our faithful king Attesmythe? Oh, and closer to the end we had to enlist someone else to help Shark out on the war brig and provide fuel for the rivalry fire and that was Feegle. Soon, there were six pirates in the ocean that knew (after Iron’s official post by the way) and we were trying to settle on a storyline.
After over twenty emails, and hours of being silly, we came upon the plot. Chi and Iron would get into the drinking tourney, proceed to get sloshed, and Iron would ask her to marry him, Atte would conveniently be there, and the insanity would ensue!
We all gathered at the palace on Jorvik for the event. Iron and I jobbed SO many people, we had considered borrowing two war frigates from the flag for the event . . . . when we had HOPED to fill two war brigs. . . . . at any rate, the drinking tourney went off without a hitch, and Iron proceeded to get sloshed as planned, and he started hitting on me with famous one liners like: Ironfisted says, "Chi, you look half decent in this drunken stooper", Ironfisted says, "I dare call Chi hot.", and the always entertaining Ironfisted says, "I'm so tanked". This went on for a bit, our crew playing right into the plan, without the slightest idea of what was happening!
Feegs was there to fuel the fire with lines like: Feegle says, "The Shark *I* know will be mildly upset.", and Feegle says, "It's a nice dress - but Shark will STILL be upset."
It was classic, everyone wanted to know who Shark was and if he was an EX-boyfriend or something. Then this message was sent over /FO: Zebulan flag officer chats, "Come to jorvik palace. Iron and Chi are getting married". I believe a couple more flag mates showed, the best one being Sunny who added even more fuel to the fire with this line: Sunny thinks, "Isn't Chi already married" which was great because it sparked even more controversy!
Shark entered the throne room and this was the exchange:
Orvile says, "your wife just got married"
Feegle says, "Aye Shark."
Hellequin says, "isn't bad... calico's been grabbing booty... yer wife got married... normal stuff"
Shark says, "whaaaa?"
Chihiro says, "Oh, Sharky"
Feegle says, "I TOLD them not to do it."
Ironfisted says, "She loves me."
Blackjewel says, "Wait... she's *married* to Shark?"
Shark says, "to Iron??"
Blackjewel says, "::admiring look at Chi:: You GO girl."
Calicohydro says, "ohhhh double barnacle"
Sunny wonders if she should run away
Chihiro says, "Aye I'm with Iron now"
Shark says, "grrrrrr"
This is where it gets interesting. Shark beat Iron in a duel, kidnapped me, and took off in the wedding ship with a supposed 50k in the coffers (it was awarded later to whomever got to Turtle with the bride aboard). Shark locked me in the Captain’s Quarters and took off .
Feegle says, "Hop on Marauding Mako to support Shark! And Enthusiastic Mullet to support Ironfisted"
Feegle says, "Winning crew splits the wedding poe!"
Shark says, "Join me aboard the Mako mates!! Help me fight for Chi's honor!"
Calicohydro says, "aye for Irons cause join the mullet"
Ironfisted says, "Join the Mullet!"
Calicohydro says, "we need to get Chi back where she belongs"
The two ships PvPed each other twice and Shark’s ship dominated the swordfight both times. It was insanely fun!
Chihiro shouts, "Iron, SAVE ME, I'm locked in the Capt's bunk!"
Ironfisted says, "yarg full sails"
Shark shouts, "quiet you!"
Chihiro makes muffled sounds as Shark covers her mouth
Hellequin thinks shark is being a bit abusive and is wondering if he chose the right side
Attesmythe says, "Excuse me, does this rag smell like chloroform to you?"
As you can imagine, there were countless taunts and insults that went back and forth between the ships on crew chat. At then end of the second battle, we had to figure out a way to me onto Iron’s ship. Shark’s team was too good, they dominated BOTH swordfights, so on the spur of the moment, we hatched a plan.
Ironfisted has come aboard.
Shark says, "wha?"
Feegle says, "The enemy!"
Ironfisted forced Shark to walk the plank.
Shark has left the vessel.
Ironfisted says, "come on chi!"
Chihiro kisses her Iron for saving her!
Ironfisted smiles
We wisked over to the other ship and made for Turtle. Shark had been stopped by a brigand, that he accused Iron of hiring (to which he admitted), and then Iron’s ship also got caught. Shark’s ship made it to Turtle first, but without the bride. They DID win kraken’s blood off of the brig that they beat though, so that helped to pad the booty divide.
Ironfisted says, "we have chi and 4 rum, we're the real winners"
Hellequin says, "Was this pillage all about the booty shark? was it never about chi? I need answers!"
Ironfisted laughs
Shark says, "'tis about Chi's booty"
Hellequin says, "well then, why don't we HAVE it?"
After porting, Iron took the bride and they went into hiding somewhere on the island. Shark offered a 10k bounty to the pirate that could track him down, beat him in a swordfight and return Chi to him! Dracai was the victor, and we all went to the Turtle palace for a conclusion to all the craziness!
Shark says, "okay Iron - I have a confession to make. I never really wanted Chi for meself"
Ironfisted says, "what??"
Shark says, "but I swore long ago I'd defend her honor... and I have"
Ironfisted says, "well it was a fun night, you’re a great guy"
Ironfisted says, "let's all just party!"
Chihiro agrees
Shark says, "aye - I've defended her honor, but ye can have her"
Scarletrose thinks, "this is better than a soap opera"
Ironfisted says, "thank you"
Shark says, "you've proven yerself worthy of her hand"
Chihiro blushes
Chihiro says, "thanks Sharky Smile"
Shark shouts, "congrats to ye both!"
Shark shouts, "now let's fight for fun!!!"
Chihiro shouts, "YAY!"
And that was the end of our event. It was way more fun than any of us could have imagined. Thanks to all that came, and we hope you had as good of a time as we did!
Later on in the month, McStew had his first ever Pink Turban awards. Stew was known for wearing a lot of different colors, but pink was probably the one he was most known for. They met at the inn on Jorvik, on June, 21st, 2004, for questions, fun and prizes, all of which were PINK! There was a good time had by all, and they temporarily picked up a greenie named SuperWario. He won the sword tourney for the grand prize, a pink turban, and wasn’t seen again much after that night.
July 2004
Edit
Since Nyx’s Scions had broken apart, the SD Royalty Council saw fit to ally with the remnants of them that were the most friendly to the flag. On July 1, 2004, the council approved an alliance with Widows and Orphans. This new flag was made up mainly of ARR and Sinking Feelings at the time.
On what seemed to be a regular day on the Midnight Ocean, three of RM’s finest gathered on the Proper Tench to discuss an officer’s fate. Hydro, Iron and Chi decided to call said officer to the ship to talk to him. Chi tried her best to act like Feegle was in big trouble when he arrived, so she planked him. Iron and Hydro called him back to the ship to talk to him, and Iron told Amilliss and Feegle that he was disbanding the crew. Meanwhile, one of them demoted poor Feegs to pirate. Iron promoted him to Senior Officer, and said “Oops I hit the wrong button, guess we can leave it, hehe.” Iron and Chi both announced Feegs’ promotion on flag officer chat at the same time, and the flag all congratulated him.
RM’s next OiT was Cale. She was examined and passed her officer test on July 18, 2004. She had finally built up her confidence in battle navigating, and has turned out to be a great asset to the crew.
Greenwolf’s second attempt to take Jorvik was on July 23, 2004. He and his crew were out gunned again and the Loots got to stay where they belong. The issue with this blockade was the rotten timing. GW claimed to have been planning this forever, but it coincidentally fell on the day before Eta was to open.
Chihiro got to drop the war chest on Eta at 3:00pm eastern on July 22, 2004. Even though all of SD were already blockade weary from Jorvik III, they all made it back to fight for their island, along with a strong showing from the Loots, and Widows and Orphans. Quiglin was their fearless admiral yet again, and there was a lot of contention from Vilya, with a lot of other mates jobbing and representing them.
Silver Dawn became owner of Eta island in scenic Ruby archipelago at about 6:00am on July 25, 2004. This was probably the most hotly contested blockade on Viyla’s part in the history of the ocean. The best navers in the ocean showed up to help the Ringers and contest SD, but then it turned to mainly sinking SD ships. They fought with all that they had, and in the end were victorious in all of the required seven rounds consecutively. All who showed up for the last rounds were exhausted, and many tired cheers were uttered. The real celebration occurred later when everyone was well rested and awake later on in the day!
