Within a flag there are four levels of rank: monarch, royalty, titled member, and member.

The monarch and royalty of a flag vote on game issues concerning the flag — these are declarations of alliances and war, governorship, changing members of the royalty, and bestowing of flag titles. An issue cannot pass until at least half the royalty (plus monarch) have voted, as a majority vote is needed to pass or reject an issue.

Members of royalty and the monarch have the ability to wear a crown or tiara and pose for a portrait with a scepter in hand. Additionally, the game channels of royalty and flag broadcast are available.
